With the tacit consent of the inhabitants of Lviv the another river in the city turns into a sewer.

It seems that in relation to water, as in anything else, reflects a true "European" face of Lviv, and municipal authorities. It would seem that "overdried" City of the Lion, which have already destroyed the river Poltva, the rivers should be respected, with particular trepidation. However, oddly enough, barbarian attitude towards streams have not changed. An example of this - Zubra River, one of the largest rivers, which originate in our city. Still any more (50) years ago, it was a favorite place for family holidays. Today it's called "stink". Unfortunately, this is not a whim of nature,  but the error of residents of Lviv  .

The glorious history

Today about the River Zubra, living in Sihovskom array, a lot of people of Lviv are not even aware . Gradually erased from memory and a large Pioneer Lake, which was located on the border of the park "Zubra". Lake of the river began Zubra, which was then crystal clear. On its banks was the beach. Come here to swim and sunbathe. Here you can rent boats. Paying for "fishing control of" 50 cents per fishing rod could go fishing. There were many fish in the lake and the river. Evidence that the water was clean, had lots of crayfish. It was a center of recreation in summer and winter. Today you can still find people who remember, as children riding in the winter on the frozen lake to skate and play hockey.
Now, the lake - dried valley where still people love come from  residential area Sikhov. They are like ghosts themselves without realizing it, looking drained of water. From the river was rest only the  stinking rubbish  ditch. At the bottom of this ditch is whitish plaque of unknown origin. Of course, there is no live fish and crayfish for several decades. In the ditch only lives mosquitoes and disease, and floating debris . But even such a small river, overgrown with trees and dirty, can be surprising. Traveling downstream Zubra, already over 100 meters you can get past the first bridge, you can see her first rapids. You can see the birds.
Today the authorities and officials are trying not to think of the river. The river Zubra has a great story. The River - The proof of that Lvov was standing at the intersection of land and waterways. This river empties into the Black Sea. A river in ancient times was navigable up to the district Sihov and village  Kozelniki. Merchants could get down the river to the city, then drag the boat overland from 500 meters to a kilometer. Then go with the navigable river Poltva to the Baltic Sea. Expert on the history of the city, Ivan Radkovets, says that this was the most economical way. Even today, river and sea transport is the cheapest in the world.
Zubra began to decline with the development of Sihovskogo array. In particular, the houses were built and developed industry. I still remember how we swam here. Fish here was very much.
  But gradually, the lake and the river became muddy. The fish was gone. The lake was like a swamp, then it was drained. 70-year-old Mr. Peter told about it. The correspondent of "Town Hall" met Mr Peter along with his grandson at the bottom of the former Pioneer Lake. Mr. Peter is very sad to watch her ​​grandson, who was standing near. Who is killing the river?

The largest contribution to the pollution of the River Zubra in Lviv makes the water from a private collector. The water comes out in front of the house at Hutorivka, 55. This is the chief of the chemical laboratory "The administrative and technical management," Michael Pavliuk. And added to the story: - there is speculation that the rain water from the reservoir is contaminated sewage from the houses. Why fall into the collector drain with rain water, I do not know. Correspondents "Town Hall" was the day when there was no rain. But the stream was strong. There was no rain per week. The question arises: where did this smelly water in a  collector for rain?
In the river Zubra specialists found  MPC ammonia, phosphates, suspended solids up  more to 4 times. About it is told in a communal enterprise. In the water exceeded the ammonia level. This suggests that there comes home sewage and detergents in river.
 Therefore, the rainwater collector have illegal connections. Similarly, we can not talk about it just.  Under the ground is not clear that pours into the river, and it is difficult to control. If there are illegal connections, it can only find "Lvivvodokanal." We do not have such authority. Water Canal - is a private organization. "Lvivvodokanal" may check and must look to claim the violators for illegal connections.
